March Meeting

Bring a friend to enjoy the distinct privilege of hearing from our guest for the evening, Durham native and world-renowned activist:

MANDY CARTER
50 Years of Organizing for Justice

In 2005, Mandy Carter was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was part of the 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize who were honored in order to recognize, make visible and celebrate the impressive and valuable, yet often invisible peace work of thousands of women around the world.  These 1000 women from 150 countries were guided in their work by non-violence, integrity, and selflessness–and in recognition that some remained anonymous the 1000th woman was known as “anonyma.”
Ms. Carter will celebrate with us a major milestone in her life as an organizer. The year 2017 marks 50 years of her tireless work for greater social, racial and LGBTQA justice. Be part of helping honor Mandy Carter’s distinguished and accomplished career.
