We have good news to share….
- Members of branches in other parts of the country have found us.
- We made new contacts at “Bennett IV” in Greensboro in July
- We’ve reconnected with members who had schedule conflicts last year
All are welcome!
Branch member and state public policy chair Denny McGuire was a delegate to AAUW’s 2015 national convention. On our behalf, she was all eyes and ears, preparing to return to us with observations about what happens when approximately 1500 women converge in San Diego for discussion and sharing. Her answer: “Almost too much to report in one meeting.”
A fellow NC delegate to the National AAUW convention told Denny that when she walked into the huge ballroom and saw the tables filled with delegates and staff, most of them women, she said to herself: “I am not alone. What a feeling of togetherness!” AAUW is all about women examining women’s issues and making sure the benefits of their learning are widely dispersed.
Denny, like all delegates, was encouraged to share her experience with her branch so that members will feel like part of our national organization and be aware of how dues are spent. We are glad to give her the chance to do just that.
Come and enjoy the information-sharing!
Because we want to make our meetings convenient–especially for those of you whom we haven’t seen lately–we would love to have your reactions to the short survey at the (rather long) link given below.
It will take only a few minutes of your time. Why not open it now and have a look? Thanks to one of our newest members, Lauren Pellegrino, for designing this instrument.
We suggest you paste the link into your browser… then let us hear from you! The results will send automatically.
